Approach
Every project begins with anatomy. Rather than fitting an isolated image onto the skin, I develop compositions around movement, proportion and placement.
Bold black forms, negative space and freehand drawing allow each piece to become part of the body’s structure.
Process
We start with your idea, placement, scale and references. You do not need to arrive with a finished design.
The design is developed around your anatomy, often directly on the body through freehand drawing.
Large pieces may unfold over several sessions, allowing the composition to develop with care and precision.
About
Matilde Nix is a Berlin-based tattoo artist working primarily with large-scale blackwork, neotribal, ornamental and body-flow compositions.
Her practice focuses on the relationship between drawing and anatomy, using bold forms, negative space and freehand techniques to create tattoos that respond to the individual body.
She works mainly on custom projects and is especially interested in larger compositions across the back, torso and legs.
